December 2, 2014. Liu Shengjie, who is a student in soil ecology group, successfully defends his theses. Liu Shengjie made a report entitled “Spider cascading effect in the forest floor and tea garden ecosystem”. His findings show that spiders, as predators, can more effectively control the number of prey populations, resulting in a cascading effect and then affecting ecosystems ecological processes in both the tropical forest floor detritus food web and tea garden ecosystem. However, several factors such as spider predation strategy, density, and environmental conditions will affect the intensity of cascading effect.
We are all very proud of you and wish you much success in your future academic careers. Addition, we have to say thank you to the examination committee for taking the time to review his theses.
